Truck driver causes accident resulting in injuries in Connecticut

Winter is a dangerous time of year for everyone on the roads; ice, snow and slick patches make it difficult to control vehicles. Most people slow down to account for the conditions of the road, but those who don't put the lives of others at risk. If you're struck by someone who isn't driving at a suitable speed for the weather, you could be in a position to make a claim for compensation.

A truck driver has been cited in an incident following a crash on I-91. According to the news from Feb. 9, the driver, a 40-year-old man from Newark, Delaware, had been traveling on I-91 when he lost control of his tractor-trailer.

When his big rig went out of control, it jackknifed and hit a light post on the right-hand shoulder of the highway. It was shortly after this that a driver of a minibus was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. The minibus struck the right side of the tractor-trailer, causing of all the occupants inside to suffer injuries in the crash. Reports indicate that none of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening. The driver of the semi was not injured in either collision.

The driver of the semi was found to be at fault and was cited for driving dangerously; he was reportedly traveling too quickly for the road conditions, making his vehicle unsafe around other drivers. For the victims of similar accident,s it's important to know that these dangerous drivers' negligent acts are taken seriously, and you have a right to make a claim if you've been injured.
