Tragic Backover Accidents

Backover accidents are one of the most tragic accidents imaginable. They often involve a parent who mistakenly backs over a child. The result is heart wrenching. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently released information that over 100 children were killed in 2007 as the result of a backover accident. A backover accident most often occurs when a driver in a residential driveway backs over a small child. In fact, most deaths occur to children under age 14. In response, laws are presently under consideration that would require vehicles to have additional mirrors or sensor devices that will hopefully help to curb these shattering deaths.
