Traffic accidents happen in an instant and cost people their lives. Those who survive are often left with serious injuries that need weeks, months or years of expensive medical treatment. It’s important for victims to know their rights. If you’re injured because of another driver’s behaviors, it’s possible for you to seek a claim against that person.

Some of the people involved in this collision may be seeking compensation in the future for themselves or their loved ones who have passed. One person was killed and a number of others were injured recently in a crash in Westport. According to a news report from Dec. 31, a crash took place on I-95 in Westport when a minivan was hit from behind. The minivan was being driven by a 53-year-old woman when the 30-year-old driver behind her struck her vehicle.

The impact caused the minivan to move to the right and hit the guardrail. This caused the vehicle to go off the road and down an embankment. It hit a number of trees before rolling and coming to a stop.

One person in the vehicle was killed when he was ejected from it. The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash. The driver and another passenger were rushed to the local hospital in Norwalk, but both were said to have minor injuries and are expected to survive.

The initial crash also caused the other vehicle to hit a concrete barrier. The driver was not injured, fortunately. Officials have not said if the 30-year-old driver will face charges in the future, since the investigation is pending.
