Driving too quickly is illegal because of the dangers is poses to you and others on the road. Speeding can quickly result in a driver losing control of a vehicle and ending up with serious injuries. In some cases, drivers, passengers and others may be impacted, suffering injuries or being killed in the accident.
In this crash that occurred in Seymour, one person died and several others were injured. The news from April 12 reports that a male driver was speeding when he hit a pole with his vehicle. The impact caused over 400 people to lose their power, and it cost one of his friends his life. A 20-year-old man was killed in the collision.
There were seven people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and several were not wearing seat belts. They all were stabilized other than the man who passed. Their injuries ranged significantly from abrasions to lung injuries from the impact.
The road where the crash occurred has a steep grade, according to a resident. She believes the crash occurred because there was too much speed over that hazardous roadway, not due to the driver’s inexperience or age. All the people in the vehicle were between the ages of 14 and 22.
This kind of crash could be prevented if drivers would slow down. Those who are riding with a dangerous or negligent driver do have the potential to file a claim if something goes wrong. The family of a victim may be able to pursue compensation for the loss of their loved one, too.
